Dance Teachers:

Are you a passionate dancer with teaching experience? Do you have a knack for working with children and a deep love for the performing arts? If so, we are looking for talented individuals like you to join our team at Metropolitan School of the Arts.

With 20+ years of expertise, we offer a diverse range of dance genres, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop, music theater and acro. We are seeking teachers with expertise in one or more of these dance styles for our 2023-2024 season.

Responsibilities:

– Provide engaging and interactive dance classes to students of various age groups and skill levels.

– Develop and implement lesson plans that focus on building technique, fostering creativity, and nurturing self-confidence.

– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive and express themselves through dance.

– Conduct periodic evaluations to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.

– Collaborate with other dance teachers and staff to plan and organize recitals, performances, and showcases.

– Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the dance industry to ensure a well-rounded and current dance curriculum.

– Collaborate with department directors to communicate with parents and guardians to address any concerns and provide updates on their child’s progress.

Requirements:

– Minimum of two years of experience as a dance teacher

– Strong dance background and technical proficiency in the chosen dance style(s).

– Ability to work effectively with children of all ages and skill levels.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Experience in the performing arts is preferred.

– Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and their mission-driven work is a plus.
