Nutcracker: A Gift of Imagination

“Against all odds we are excited for another wonderful Nutcracker season!  Come join us as Clara takes her magical journey at the George Washington National Masonic Memorial in Alexandria on Saturday, December 19th and Sunday December 20th 2020!! The Stalbauhms are hosting their annual holiday party while following safety measures to protect the health of all guests. Those who are dancing during Clara’s magical journey will be wearing stylish masks and dancing at a ten foot distance from others! Visitors will be required to sit masked in family groups 6 feet apart. We hope that Clara can again, in these strange times, take on the vicious Mouse Queen as she and Drosselmeyer battle to break the evil spell that placed Drosselmyers nephew in the body of the wooden Nutcracker doll.  All being well and the spell is again broken, the Nutcracker prince will take Clara on a journey from the real world, to that of fantasy and dreams. On this journey the Nutcracker prince will introduce Clara to the dazzling Snow Queen and her dancing snowflakes before arriving at the Land of the Sweets. The Sugar Plum fairy and all the wonderful characters in her kingdom are ready to dance for Clara and Nutcracker as soon as they arrive!! We hope you can enjoy us for this magical, safely distanced holiday event at this very festive time of year!”

Nutcracker in a Nutshell

We are sad to announce that we will not be able to perform our annual production of Nutshell this year due too many logistical constraints and the restricted audience capacity available in the black box. We hope that all our Nutshell dancers will join us in our MSA Nutcracker production.
