The Company Project is Metropolitan School of the Arts’ annual pre-professional youth dance showcase in Alexandria, VA. The performance features dancers from iMpulse, MYTE, and dynaMYTE, MSA’s premier youth dance companies. Together, these talented performers demonstrate exceptional technique, artistry, and creativity through a diverse collection of original works.
This season, The Company Project celebrates the magic of cinema and the unforgettable soundtracks that have shaped generations. Film has the unique ability to transport us into shared dreams through music, movement, and storytelling. As a result, audiences experience the same emotions, memories, and moments that make movies so powerful. Throughout the performance, each piece is inspired by iconic cinematic music, inviting audiences to relive the laughter, wonder, excitement, and emotion of the big screen.
Each year, The Company Project presents original choreography by MSA’s artistic directors and distinguished guest artists. In addition, audiences enjoy performances in jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, musical theater, and other dance styles. Every piece challenges dancers while providing meaningful artistic and performance experiences. At the same time, each work encourages dancers to grow both technically and artistically.
As a leading youth dance showcase in Northern Virginia, The Company Project celebrates dedication, discipline, and artistic growth. Through these performances, dancers tell compelling stories using movement, musicality, and innovative choreography.
