Metropolitan Musical Theatre Company is a production company for Musical Theatre performers. The purpose is to deepen their knowledge of the full scope of American Theatre through Classic Book Musicals, Contemporary Musical Theatre, Revues and readings of new works or plays. Recent productions have included A Chorus Line, Legally Blonde and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Dates: July 31-August 12 (Monday 7/31-Saturday 8/5 and Monday 8/7 – Saturday 8/12)
Locations: Please note that this is a performance-based program. The majority of the musical’s rehearsals will be at Metropolitan School of the Arts; however, some rehearsals and the final performance may take place offsite.
Eligibility: Video audition submission required for casting (callbacks for some roles may be necessary); open to rising 7th graders through Gap Year.
Deadline to audition: June 1, 2023 (pending availability)
Instructions for video audition submissions will be posted the week of February 6-10 along with additional show details.
Vocal – 32 bars of contemporary or classical musical theatre
Dance – 30 seconds of dance in any style that show a turn, a kick and your personality.
Please note that as this is a performance-based program with limited spots awarded by audition-only; we cannot offer refunds or credits once acceptances have been sent and enrollments have been confirmed.
Payment in full of all current and past due charges is required in order to participate in summer programs.
MSA does not offer refunds or credits for classes/lessons missed due to student absence/non-attendance, inclement weather or similar circumstances.
The schedule is subject to change or cancellation based on enrollment. Students will be contacted if a cancellation is deemed necessary due to low enrollment. A refund for any fees paid will be issued.
MSA will abide by government health guidelines and therefore classes may be in person, virtual or a mixture of both at any point during the season. Tuition will not change based on any changes to in person status deemed necessary in order to comply with CDC and VADH guidelines at time of the intensive.
