Lesley trained at London College of Dance and Drama and the Royal Academy of Dance, London. She also holds a Masters in Teaching (Dance) from University of Surrey majoring in Educational Leadership and Collaborative Learning and a B.Phil (Hons) from Durham University in Ballet and Contextual Studies, majoring in child development and pedagogy. Lesley has taught ballet all around the world. She spent 20 years in Dubai, UAE where she was Owner and Artistic Director of one of the largest dance schools in the country. She has lectured in pedagogy at Dance for All, Edinburgh, UK, and has also held an adjunct professorial role of Teaching Supervisor for the Bachelor of Dance Education degree of the Royal Academy and the University of Surrey. Appointed to the Board of Tutors of the Royal Academy of Dance in 1998 and the Board of Examiners in 2002, Lesley travels all around the world teaching and assessing ballet students and teachers. She became Director of the Ballet program at MFAC in 2008, Director of the Conservatory Program in 2009 and School Director in 2012. She is committed to developing all the programs at MFAC to make it the school of choice for all serious performing arts students in the metropolitan Washington DC area.
