This year, Metropolitan School of the Arts is joining other Alexandria organizations for Spring2Action, a campaign focused on April 10, its Annual Day of Giving, to continue to strengthen our community. Spring2ACTion is an online giving day, hosted by ACT for Alexandria, created to support the nonprofits doing great work in our community. Since 2011, 55,000 generous donors have given more than $8 million dollars to 160 nonprofits through Spring2ACTion, making it one of the most successful city-wide giving days in the country!

Metropolitan School of the Arts is using this special day to kick-off its own annual fundraising efforts, which will continue through May 20. Funds will help with tuition support, operations for The Academy, our private secondary school, as well as MSA’s free, public holiday and community shows, like Frosty Follies and other private performances. These private performances include showcases at the Library of Congress and the White House, and other charitable events for organizations like Children’s National Hospital and ChildHelp. MSA is a non-profit organization committed to setting the standard of excellence in performing arts education that relies on donations and grants, above the cost of tuition and ticket sales, to provide its training.

As part of this year’s campaign, we are thrilled to have an anonymous MSA donor that will match donations up to $50,000. To learn more and to donate, visit our personalized Spring2Action donation page here!

Metropolitan School of the Arts has a 2019 fundraising goal of $125,000. For those wishing to help us meet our goal, all donations can be made by mail or online here between April 10 and May 20. Those who donate $125 or more, will also be invited to our culminating campaign celebration, the Academy Luncheon and Showcase performance, “A Day in the Life,” on May 20 from 12 – 2pm.  (as space allows.)

Donors can select to support Metropolitan School of the Arts’ full-time Academy, its after-school studio programming, or leave it to MSA’s leadership to determine the greatest need.

“We’re so fortunate to have such committed support from local businesses and families to help make our school thriving and successful… We are also extremely proud to be part of the Alexandria arts community.” said Melissa Dobbs, Founder and President of MSA.

Participation in Spring2Action also gives Metropolitan School of the Arts the chance to win cash grants and prize donations from area businesses. The more donors (per unique email) we have, the more chances we have to win! Follow all community donations at #Spring2Action and
