2023-2024: MHP TUITION & BILLING
Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) will charge the preferred payment method indicated in the parent portal account according to the terms outlined. Transfer of funds will occur on the second day of the month beginning September 2, 2023 or date of starting class. Final tuition payment for the 2023-2024 session will occur on May 2, 2024.
The registration fee will be charged at the time of registration. Any outstanding balance on your Metropolitan account as of September 1, 2023 (or date of registration if after 9/1/23) from previous sessions or purchases will be due and charged to the payment method provided for this session.
A $25 late fee will be charged on the 15th day of the month for any outstanding balance on your account. When a tuition or fee account becomes past due for a period of 60 days from its due date the student may be withheld from classes until the delinquency is cured.
MHP tuition is based on yearly fee payable in 9 equal payments and billed September 2023-May 2024. Short months will be balanced by longer months to fulfill a minimum of 33 meetings per class (the final bill is made on May 2nd each season)
MHP TUESDAY TUITION:
$165.00/per student per month
$150.00/per student per month for 2 students
$135.00 per student per month for 3 or more students
There is a two-month minimum enrollment requirement for all classes and private lessons. Notification to withdraw from class must be received in writing by the 7th of the month in order to stop tuition payment for the following month. To withdraw from a class or private lesson, a parent must submit a request in writing. Withdrawals are not accepted via phone.
No withdrawals are accepted after April 1, 2024.
Metropolitan does not offer refunds or credits for classes/lessons missed due to student absence or non-attendance, inclement weather, emergency cancellations or similar circumstances.
All fees/tuition must be paid by one of the following:
– Bank draft: A 1% convenience fee will be applied.
– Credit/debit card: A 3% convenience fee will be applied.
All tuition is paid by automatic monthly credit/debit card or bank draft installments. Bills will not be sent.
The authority to charge the account provided is to remain in full force until contract expires and any balance due is paid in full or Metropolitan School of the Arts has received notice of cancellation with sufficient time to act upon contract as stated above and any balance due is paid in full. Metropolitan School of the Arts will not be liable for any special or consequential damages, whether direct or indirect, for any wrongful debit to my account. Metropolitan School of the Arts reserves the right to cancel and terminate this agreement at any time.
2023-2024: MHP PARTICIPATION TERMS & CONDITIONS
Metropolitan’s schedule of classes and lessons is subject to change or cancellation at any time based on enrollment, faculty availability and studio space constraints. Parents will be contacted as soon as possible if a change to their child’s class or lesson is deemed necessary. Schedule of classes is from 11:30- a.m.-2:30 p.m. each Tuesday.
Metropolitan operates as a “Come and Go” facility. Metropolitan is not responsible for providing before or after class care/supervision for students. Students are not to be left at the school for excessive periods before or after their classes. Drop off is between 11:15 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. Pick up is promptly at 2:30 p.m. Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe class.
Please label all clothes, shoes, bags and other personal belongings with your student’s name and leave expensive electronics, jewelry and other valuables at home. Metropolitan is not responsible for lost or misplaced/missing property. A Lost & Found is provided; unclaimed items may be donated after 14 days. Parents/students may ask front desk staff for assistance in checking for lost items.
To maximize our educational standards, a minimum attendance standard is required and repeated tardiness may affect progress and placement as well as participation in performances. Students missing more than 3 classes after March may not be permitted to participate in the end of year performance, a decision that will be made at the teacher’s discretion.
To provide the most professional experience for your children, the faculty of Metropolitan will enforce the dress code attire beginning the third week of classes. Hair must be worn off the neck and out of the face for all classes. Students should bring clothes to wear on top of dance attire for music and theater as they will not have time to change in between classes. Dance attire is required for dance classes and will be included in the welcome handbook.
Performing arts require physical skills, and in order to help and facilitate the student’s learning; instructors may guide a movement by physical contact. Physical contact promotes kinesthetic learning and can produce a quicker response to correction than other teaching tools.
MSA staff may take photographs or videos of students, individually or in groups, attending or taking part in classes, programs and events. These photographs or videos may appear in MSA’s own or other publications, on our website, on social media or in other publicity. Students and/or participants consent to having their photograph taken (or such videos shown) and used for such purposes. Should any publication request to identify the student, MSA will contact the parent for consent. Parents wishing to opt their child(ren) out of MSA social media and marketing must notify MSA administration in writing.
MSA FAMILY CODE OF CONDUCT:
Metropolitan School of the Arts is a performing arts community on a mission to change the world by inspiring and supporting students, faculty, and staff to reach their fullest potential as artists, innovators and generous citizens. The artistic, intellectual, emotional, physical and social development and well-being of our students is the primary concern of Metropolitan School of the Arts faculty and staff.
In order to create a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment for everyone, the Standards of Conduct outlined below apply to all members of the school community, including students, parents and guardians, school staff, volunteers and visitors:
– Be responsible, respectful and kind.
– Arrive on time and attend all required classes, appointments, rehearsals and performances.
– Inform faculty and administration in a timely manner regarding absences, tardiness and early dismissals.
– Wear the proper dress-code attire.
– Bring necessary materials and equipment.
– Be courteous and receptive when following the instructions of faculty, staff, administration and volunteers.
– Communicate at all times in a positive and honest manner, avoiding abusive, ridiculing, intimidating, and/or demeaning comments and behaviors.
– Keep Metropolitan an environment free from illegal or unauthorized substances, weapons, or any other dangerous devices, both on and off campus.
– Help maintain a safe, clean and orderly environment during all Metropolitan classes, events and activities.
– Preserve the privacy of others and their belongings in an honest and helpful manner.
– Avoid negative or inappropriate commentary about classmates, Metropolitan families, faculty, staff, volunteers and the school in the public sphere.
– Represent Metropolitan in a positive and responsible manner with their words and actions at all times.
MSA will abide by government health guidelines and therefore classes may be in person, virtual or a mixture of both at any point during the year.
2023-2024: LIABILITY WAIVER
I am aware that any physical activity should be undertaken ONLY after consultation with a physician and I assume responsibility for my child doing so. I have advised Metropolitan School of the Arts in writing of any limitations necessitated by my child’s activities due to medical or physical conditions. I hereby hold Metropolitan School of the Arts and its employees or contractees harmless for any cost, claim, injury, damage, or liability incurred at the facility.
