COMBINATION CLASSES


Pre-Primary 1    

Must be 3 years old by September 30th
Description: Young dancers will love this dance class for beginners. Each class develops a combination of foundational Tap and Ballet skills, as well as self-expression and Creative Movement. Class begins with high-energy Tap exercises and routines, then transitions into more fluid Ballet exercises. Classes close with Creative Movement, incorporating props, storytelling and improvisation. Students will be given the opportunity to perform in the Winter Concert and the Spring Production.

Pre-Primary 2
Must be 4 years old by September 30th
Description: Specifically designed to engage this age group and develop their love of dance, this class encourages creativity and a sense of self-expression. Students develop their Tap, Ballet, and Creative Movement skills in an encouraging and supportive environment. Class begins with high-energy Tap exercises and routines, then transitions into more fluid Ballet exercises. Classes finish with Creative Movement activities. Students will be given the opportunity to perform in the Winter Concert and the Spring Production

Combination 1   

Must be 5 years old by September 30th
Description: This class continues to develop a combination of Tap and Ballet skills in an energetic and dynamic environment. Dancers work on more complex movements performed at a faster speed. Exciting and fun Tap exercises increase energy levels, while Ballet exercises develop focus and grace. Students will be given the opportunity to perform in the Winter Concert and the Spring Production.

Combination 2
Must be 6 years old by September 30th
Description: This class continues to develop Tap skills while providing an introduction to the fun and energetic world of Jazz dance. Class begins with Tap exercises designed to help students progress in their Tap proficiency. Then, basic Jazz skills are introduced, accompanied by lively music. At this level, classes are no longer themed. Students will be given the opportunity to perform in the Winter Concert and the Spring Production.

EARLY CHILDHOOD BALLET

Early Childhood Ballet 1    
Must be 5 years old by September 30th
Description: In this class, dancers develop poise, focus, grace, and musicality through imaginative exercises and enjoyable routines, which are based on famous ballets. Foundational Ballet skills and technique are developed in a joyful environment. Students will be given the opportunity to perform in the Winter Concert and the Spring Production.
Class Length: 1 hour


Early Childhood Ballet 2  

Must be 6 years old by September 30th
Description: This class continues to develop foundational Ballet skills through themed classes based on famous ballets. Students also engage in ‘free movement’, which enables them to utilize their Ballet skills for self-expression. Students will be given the opportunity to perform in the Winter Concert and the Spring Production.
Class Length: 1 hour


Primary Ballet
Must be 7 years old by September 30th
Description:  This strong foundation prepares students for a successful transition to a more serious approach to their Ballet studies.  On completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate an awareness of line through the body and articulation of limbs through harmonious coordination, dynamic elevation and use of space.  They should be able to respond expressively to music and show an appropriate sense of performance in their dancing using imagery and mime.  Students will have the opportunity to perform in the annual Spring Production.
