Full Name: Elizabeth Mann
What school do you go to? The Academy at Metropolitan School of the Arts
What is your favorite part about playing the role of Clara? I really like how much is going on while playing the part of Clara. It’s such as great experience because you have to think so quickly that the only thing you can do is to go with your instincts, and that is what makes the dancing and acting so authentic.
How many hours per week do you dance? Currently, I’m dancing around 30 hours a week since it’s Nutcracker season. Usually I dance around 23-25 hours a week.
What is your favorite type of dance? Ballet, definitely!
What other classes do you take besides ballet? Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Acting, Improv, Guitar,
Do you sing? Yes
What is your one biggest dream after you graduate high school? My biggest dream after high school is to join a ballet company (hopefully ABTJ) as soon as possible and continue to grow, improve, and work my way through the company’s levels.
Who has been your biggest inspiration? My biggest inspiration would probably be Gillian Murphy, because she joined ABT as a member of the corps de ballet when she was 17, and she’s overall a really amazing dancer.
What is one thing you’d like for people to know about this year’s Nutcracker production? Just the fact that MSA’s production has so much time, effort, and love put into rehearsing and performing this show not just from the students, but from the teachers as well. The communication between the cast members of the Nutcracker and the teachers is something really special.
