The goal of this workshop is to provide tools for each child to gain flexibility as safely and efficiently as possible. We will begin by reviewing the differences between stretching as a warm up versus cool down and demonstrate examples of each. After warming up we will run through the most important lower body stretches and review the anatomy of our legs, arms, and upper back. This will lead us into stretching the arms and back to improve port de bras and cambre. Safety while stretching will be covered with special attention on foot stretchers and over-stretching. We will close the workshop by discussing foam roller and tennis ball fascial releases and will provide exercises for the dancer to use before and after class.
